You are not alone here, this is the most common problem encountered by most of the guitarists worldwide. And I was no different either. But the biggest question remains, how do you get around this problem? That’s what I am going to explain to you in this article.

Let me ask you something, have you gone through this situation before?….You heard a melodious lead by your favorite guitarist or band which sounded quite simple, but when you attempted it, you found it to be too difficult to learn, and then you got frustrated and gave it up? huh Sounds familiar? And do you think this happens only to you?

No, there are millions of aspiring guitarists like you who go through this same situation everyday and ultimately give up learning guitar altogether. Sad. I feel sorry for them. So please don’t let that happen to you. In order to get around this problem I have explained some easy practice tips that you can try out which has given me great results. So here you go

1. Always take care that you start learning a new riff or lead when you have a pleasant and happy mood. But I would say, you must always carry a positive attitude to enjoy life.

2. Choose a piece of solo that you think you can easily learn. Because if you take a tough one, you might find it too difficult to learn and then chances are that you might leave it mid-way. Remember to go step by step. You can definitely play it later on.

3. Practice it slowly. If you hurry or try to speed things up, you wouldn’t have perfection and won’t sound good to you or others. But If you practice it slowly, you will develop finger strength, dexterity and you will be able to internalize the notes and their positions on the fret board in your mind.

4. Metronome – I will recommend you to use a metronome or any other device that gives out beats in the speeds that you can control, so that you can play along with it. This way you can gradually develop speed in your leads. Now almost all the guitar courses provide you with a metronome and other useful tools to make your guitar learning easy and fun filled.

5. Practicing scales – This is a great way to play killer riffs. Take any scale, pentatonic minor or harmonic minor and play it in different styles up and down the fret board, in different octaves, using various picking styles. This will immensely develop speed and strength of your fingers. And when you play a scale try to utilize the entire fret board, rather than sticking to one or two positions.

I guarantee you that if you follow these patterns that I just explained, you will be able to play the most intricate of the solos that you might encounter, with ease and perfection.

By the way I want to ask you something, are you teaching yourself from random lessons or taking lessons from an expensive guitar tutor? Either ways you are doing harm to yourself. Nothing can be more dangerous than learning from random unauthorized lessons that you find everywhere on the internet.

And let me ask you, why should you waste your hard earned money on expensive private tutors when you can get years worth of lessons for the price of just a single session, taught by more than one or two professional tutors?

If you don’t know shredding then you cannot be called a rock guitarist and neither can you play any lead segments by any popular band or artist perfectly.

LIMITED-EDITION 7-STRING UNIVERSE LAUNCHED BY IBANEZ

There aren’t alot of things I recall very well from the 1980s and early 90’s – and in some respects that might be a good thing. As it relates to music, I was just getting rid of my cassette collection and loading up on CDs.

One of my favorite CDs from that time was Steve Vai’s Passion and Warfare. So when I got the news release from Ibanez recently, it was like a blast from the past.

I can still remember when Ibanez hooked up with Steve Vai to build the 7-string Universe, thinking it was the most insane idea I’ve ever heard. And now, I’m told, that was 20 years ago. Fortunately, others much more insightful than I recognized the potential, and the Universe was labeled “Most Innovative Guitar of the Year” and the Music and Sounc Awards in 1990.

In the 1990s, the Universe and its extended bottom range really came into its own and fostered in the modern metal sound of Dino Cazares and Korn. Twenty years later, Ibanez is celebrating Steve Vail and the success of his creation by releasing a limited edition, 20th Anniversary UV77RE Universe.

Like the original, the solid body UV77RE reissue is seven strings of blaze, ready-made for greatest shred and some of the meanest riffing on the earth. Darren Johansen, the original Universe designer, brings back the wild swirl motif and in the process, creates a truly unique paint scheme for each Universe that’s produced. As with Ibanez’s other Limited Edition Reissues including the famous Bob Weir model, all UV77RE models are made in Japan by the same luthiers who created the originals.

1990 not only brought the Ibanez Universe guitar to the world, it also debuted Steve Vai’s groundbreaking, earth shattering album, “Passion and Warfare”, and each U77RE comes with a commemorative poster of this sonic masterpiece.

I’ve just finished looking at Griff Hamlin’s latest
package, “Playing Through The Blues” – A Guide For The Lead Guitar Player.

I think you agree with me that learning how to play the blues can be quite a frustrating task. It looks so simple, but only a handful of people seem to know the tricks to really making it sound great.

Blues Guitar, is not about playing fast or really involved. You can play very easy and simple phrases and sound incredibly tasty. Check any of BB King’s recordings and I am sure you’ll agree with me. That guy can give you the goose bumps with just a couple of notes…

Griff Hamlin and his team have created a step-by-step method that has been tested and proven on his own guitar students over the past several years.

The main book provides all of the scales, techniques, theory, and tricks that you’ll need to play blues guitar. It follows a simple and logical progression. Each chapter builds on the one before it. At the end of each chapter, you’ll be told exactly what you need to be able to do before moving on to the next chapter. You can’t fail with this.

What I really like in the course, however, is the audio examples and “jam
tracks”. You can play the audio examples at full speed or at a speed that allows you to play more comfortably, so you can practice at your own pace until you get completely comfortable with playing with a real blues band.

There’s also 4 complete burning solos that really sound like they are from your favorite blues CDs. You memorize them and totally use them at your next blues jam or gig. They demonstrate all of the techniques shown throughout the book, and give a “real world” example of what a tasty blues solo should sound like.

As if this wasn’t enough, the package includes six jam tracks, so once you get going,you can just play
along with Griff’s group . And the tracks are really good quality just like, you’re jamming with a real band.It’s a lot of fun.

As a bonus,Griff has included a collection of “turnaround” and ending licks. Some of them are pretty straight forward blues, but a couple of them are real head-turners.
